BOOK REVIEW
I am beyond impressed with the activity book 'Nature Explorers'! This wonderful resource not only offers simple, realistic nature activities across arts and science, but is enriched with prompts, cool facts, further reading, and storytelling activities. I was delighted to see the activity about "getting to know one tree" and then sketch and write about it in their nature journals. It also included a story prompt for the kids to imagine they were a flying squirrel living in a tree. After the activity I brought out my own pair of sugar gliders, which are similar to flying squirrels, to add an unforgettable and rich experience for my Forest school kids.
As a forest school owner and teacher and a former educator at the Museum of Arts & Sciences, I know firsthand how much kids can learn when engaging with nature through creative projects. What I love most is how seamlessly this book incorporates multiple subjects into fun activities—kids hardly realize how much they're learning! Nature Explorers is by far the best nature book resource we’ve used at our forest school. It’s packed with neat prompts, crafts, and easy-to-follow facts that keep kids engaged. The Kindle version is perfect for reading on phones, but the paperback is fantastic for hands-on learning and makes an excellent gift for adventurous kids or homeschooling moms. Highly recommended!"
“We think the Forest Kindergarten program is of vital importance for our son. It’s not just an activity that he really enjoys nor is it a subject matter that can be taught in the classroom. I strongly feel that he gained immeasurably from the program last year. He really came out of his shell, gained self-confidence and resilience.”

Our daughter was in the first Naturally Nurtured Nature class during the 2020-2021 school year, and has absolutely loved it! She adores Ms.Dawn and being in nature, which she did not have much experience with at all before. She has gained so much independence, strength, and confidence being in this environment all year long, in the heat and the cold. The kids are able to learn about plants and bugs, growing vegetables, climbing trees, making forts all over the woods and creek, and are right alongside cows, horses, and donkeys. This experience doesn’t exist in-town, so getting your kids out of the city and into a wooded farm setting with a very passionate and devoted teacher is an incredible experience for them to grow in! We will be there all summer for camp, and will return during school year breaks. We feel so lucky to have found Ms.Dawn and her forest school!!
